The name evolved from the cross between a bedding box and a chest of drawers, as is a mule a cross. The drawer formation is particularly attractive on this piece, not all have six dummy drawers. The ogee bracket feet give way to four working drawers and six dummies all with mahogany crossbanding. To the sides are reeded canted corners, a small touch that you usually see on better sets of drawers, as are the fielded (bevelled) side panels. See less
