The 1882 comedic opera, Le Coeur et la Main, is a tale of an arranged royal marriage and the reluctant bridgegroom’s plan to subvert it. The scene is from Act II – with a monkey astride a tall dog, another dog observing the proceedings before them - the wedding day at the Royal Palace. Captioned with opera lyrics -
