These are an incredibly rare pair of silk prints from the 1870s showing Napoleon III and Eugenie.
The images have … more These are an incredibly rare pair of silk prints from the 1870s showing Napoleon III and Eugenie.
The images have been woven in cloth / silk in what is known as a Stevengraph style. This technique originally began in 1784 with the Jacquard Power Loom.
The prints have been taped on cardboard and may be easily taken off for professional framing. They each measure 11 7/8" x 9 1/4" x 2mm. They each weigh 1.5 oz.
Great as a gift or for the collector of vintage prints, painting, pictures and other novel items.
