An outstanding original artist proof edition color serigraph (or hand-pulled silkscreen), by renowned Japanese-born American artist Mayumi Oda titled "Rain On The Bamboo Grove", dated 1971. Featuring a woman with combs in her hair, accentuating the power of her quiet and whimsical voluptuousness in the concept of the mother Goddess. This wonderful silkscreen and stencil print has the mark of a deep knowledge of color that is able to showcase with a vibrancy that is so difficult to master. It is no wonder that many people refer to Mayumi as the Matisse of Japan, for her craftsmanship echoes that of the later works of the great orientalist painters.
