The center of the brush is died red.

Incense burners, or censers, are used in all Buddhist cultures and denominations. The burning of incense takes place both in the home and in the temple, and serves as an offering to the Buddha or various deities. It also is an important ritual act that is believed to clear the air of evil spirits. The incense burners are placed on the altar with flowers and other offerings in front of the figure being venerated.

This brush is entirely hand made and remains a very tactile object. Measures 9" tall and 7" diameter. Good condition consistent with age and use. Displays beautifully as a piece of folk art. See less
