The original piece was a poster by Matisse one year before his death for his exhibition "The Sculpture of Matisse and Three Paintings with Studies" at The Tate Gallery in London in 1953. In 1959 Mourlot created a number of "Miniature" posters of the leading artists of the early to mid-century. This lithograph is an original sought-after "miniature" from the 1959 printing. It is in excellent condition and only shows very mild toning to the border. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.
