Description: Up for sale is an antique Chinese Northern country-style Kang chest or low cabinet, rectangular square -corner form containing four … more Up for sale is an antique Chinese Northern country-style Kang chest or low cabinet, rectangular square -corner form containing four drawers at the lower layer, and three storage compartments at the upper layer with the central compartment enclosed by a removable drop-down door, all door-panels and the drawers decorated with hand-cut rectangular brass fittings, and a lock fitting on the central door panel decorated with bat, coin and Shou combined signs symbolizing bliss, fortune and longevity, the exterior except the rear and interior covered with hand-buffed clear satin finish in light/golden brown color revealing the beauty of wooden grains, 19th century, Qing dynasty, Hebei Province, in overall good condition with some surface scruffs, marks, minor wood splits, joint repairs and other degradations commensurate with the age and use
