Up-the-ante at your next gathering with this elegant country cottage bone china pedestal cake stand by Crown Staffordshire, England. The pattern, Lyric Tunis Blue No. F15793 was introduced in 1949 and retired in the 1970s. The eye-catching gilt trimmed scalloped Tunis blue border of blue-on-blue scrolls, trimmed with golden yellow, frames multicolored floral garlands each centered with a pair of roses in pink and yellow. Smaller flowers in blues, yellows, and purples dot the trailing greenery. This beauty measures 10¼” x 3½” D/H; weight 1 lb. 9 oz.; handcrafted from bone china; makers stamp that was used from the 1930s to 1955 is stamped on the underside of the pedestal base. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. Whimsically elegant stand that will complement any tablescape and serve-up your baked delights in style at your next gathering!

Brief Bio on Crown Staffordshire
Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co. was officially formed by the Green brothers in 1889. The Green family had been manufacturing pottery at the Minerva Works from as early as 1833. By 1876 the brothers Thomas Allen and Spencer Green were operating as T.A. & S. Green. In 1889, still under the control of the Green brothers, the company was renamed as the Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co Ltd. In 1965 the Green family's connection with the company ceased and the company became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1973. less
