It is surrounded by the ribbons of the robe. Great detail, old traces of restoration of gilding on the face. The body of the White Tara is apparently gilded with green gold / yellow gold. The head is decorated with a five -leaf crown and two flowers. On the left and right, 2 large lotus flowers are arranged in detail. Some green savings (partly turquoise blue, green) which can testify to old age are available.
The white Tara symbolizes transcendental perception and the complete purity, grants a long life according to religious ideas and protects against diseases. Her seven eyes symbolize the highest awareness and their ability to see any suffering. According to information, it comes from a real Buddhist monastery from Austria.
Such a rare and such large white Tara is very difficult to find, let alone available on the free market.
"According to legend, she was once the Chinese tang princess WEN Cheng, the second wife of the Tibetan king Songsen Gampo, who brought the great Buddhata tatue to Tibet, who is still worshiped in the Jokhang monastery today."
symbolism
The white Tara symbolizes transcendental perception and the complete purity, grants a long life according to religious ideas and protects against diseases. Her seven eyes symbolize the highest awareness and their ability to see any suffering. According to the tantric iconography, six eyes stand for the six areas of existence in Samsara and the seventh eye for the wisdom perception of the three times (past, present, future) which should result from their realized state of consciousness. According to the practitioners, she also supports them to achieve advanced meditation states.
Depiction
In iconography, the White Tara can be a companion of the Avalokiteshvara or form a triad with Mahamayuri and Marichi and, together with Namgyälma and Amitayus, is one of the Buddha aspects of long life.
It shows itself as a peaceful appearance and has a face and two arms, the right one is stretched out in the Mudra of the freedom (palm forward). The left hand holds the stem of a fully opened loto blossom in the heart height. It sits on a lottery throne in meditation seating, partly even with the right leg raised. Their seven eyes are considered a special license plate; In addition to two normal eyes and one eye on the forehead, there is another eye on the palms and soles of the feet. It bears the jewelry of a Bodhisattva.
