A wonderful 1925-30 French art deco lamp in wrought iron of excellent quality made by Pierre Maynadier. Maynadier had a manufactory producing art deco lighting during the interbellum in Paris (25 rue Saint-Sébastien). Nowadays most known for his beautifully designed bronze fixtures Pierre Maynadier made lights with wrought iron mounts as well. In the late 30s they started to produce lighting in pressed brass in a modernist style. After the war the son took over and the grandson after him. The firm finally closed its doors in 1966.
The forged base holds a nice colored dome shaped shade in hand blown double layered mottled glass produced by Daum freres. It is signed Daum Nancy France scratched in the wet glass paste. The base is signed P. Maynadier on the bottom of the base. The lamp is 31,7 cm high (12-1/2") and the shade has a diameter of 14,5 cm (5,7 inches). The lamp is in excellent condition. It is rewired with new cloth covered twisted cord. For the States or Japan I wired the lamp with an American candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug. As you can see on the last picture, I have another Maynadier lamp with a similar type of base. It is listed in another ad. This sale is for one lamp only.
