C.1959; Hollywood Regency and into the early Mid-Century period is this high, stylized and accentuated water carafe/cocktail Pitcher by the … Read more C.1959; Hollywood Regency and into the early Mid-Century period is this high, stylized and accentuated water carafe/cocktail Pitcher by the well revered, Gorham Silversmith Company, and designed by Donald H. Coldflesh. The handle is an undulating, curvilinear sophisticated design made of black bakelite. This design was included within the Smithsonian Institutes Exhibition called, "Modernism," in American Silver 20th. Century Design. This material was utilized for pull handles, knobs and on Art Deco era furniture, bar essentials, for napkin rings and the likes, into transistor and clock radio designs from the 1930's, from the Art Deco era, into the Hollywood Regency era and the early stages of the Mid-Century era. often in particular colors given he nature of the pieces introduced to the mass markets. On the underside it is marked, Gorham, E and an anchor symbol, and the letter P, with YC845 pattern or production/design number distinction for the piece.
