A wonderful French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickeled solid brass or bronze by the famous Paris based company of Hubert Petitot holding nine shades by Muller frères. All nine are signed.
The bronze maker Alexandre Petitot started his company in 1878. His son Alexandre Hubert took over around 1917. The Paris based company of Petitot was a wholesale selling its lamps to lighting shops all over France Europe and the States. Together with Hettier & Vincent Petitot became the largest producer of French art deco lighting in the late 20s and early 30s. Petitot produced precious fixtures in high quality bronze using shades by the best French glass manufacturers.
The chandelier has a drop of 88 cm (34,65 inches). And a diameter of 65 cm (25,6"), it's 49.5 x49.5 cm in square. The chandelier is in excellent condition. The mounting has been re-nickeled and patinated. And it comes newly wired. It holds eight American candelabra base sockets.
