Description: A hard-to-find large 20th-century Burmese lacquerware serving bowl in pristine condition with effectively no usage wear for its age. The … more A hard-to-find large 20th-century Burmese lacquerware serving bowl in pristine condition with effectively no usage wear for its age. The bowl features the maker's mark and also most likely the colonial-era owner's mark, adding to the story of this piece.

This piece belonged to the legendary interior designer Lucia Lawrence's private collection and both have been stored in a climate-controlled environment continuously, wrapped in shipping paper.

It is clear that this bowl was created with a decorative purpose in mind, which is rare for the period and the region. The condition of these pieces compares favorably to the pieces collected at the British Museum.
