Description: This is a small hand-blown glass "millefiori" decorative paperweight made by Archimede Seguso i n Murano, Italy in the 1960s, … more This is a small hand-blown glass "millefiori" decorative paperweight made by Archimede Seguso i n Murano, Italy in the 1960s, and still bearing its original sticker adhered on the bottom (see photos).

The millefiori technique involves the production of glass canes or rods, known as murrine, with multicolored patterns which are viewable only from the cut ends of the cane. A murrine rod is heated in a furnace and pulled until thin while still maintaining the cross section's design. It is then cut into beads or discs when cooled. This one features predominantly white enshrouded in green surrounding a white and red cluster in the middle, and small daisies painted on seven multicolored glass beads in the middle.

It measures approximately 2" in width, 1 3/4" in height, and the flat rounded base is 1" in diameter. less
