We have recently come across a very fine vintage set of Wedgwood's bone china pattern known as "Woodstock", named for … more We have recently come across a very fine vintage set of Wedgwood's bone china pattern known as "Woodstock", named for the country town near Oxford. These pieces are exquisitely made, there really is no superior to Wedgwood's china in this time period. It is of the finest quality, produced at the height of England's china primacy, when standards were very high and craftsmen took real pride in producing products at the very top range that were not only finely made, but classically beautiful and enduring. Shortly after this time, things fell off dramatically as markets and tastes changed, and quality became too expensive for any but the very wealthy.
This pattern, "Woodstock" is decorated by hand. It features a gilt rim, the palest yellow border, overlaid with a classic laurel garland, the leaves of which are enameled above the glaze in a rich tuquoise blue. The verge is an elegantly thin yellow line and the center is pure white and frames an English bouquet of roses, cornflowers and foliage which are also enameled over the glaze.

This set has been meticulously cared for and seems like new although it is at least 70 years old. Exceptional. No damage or wear. less
