Tom Philabaum Art Glass Vase, Signed + Dated, Handblown Glass Art. Notable Arizona Artist with a glass studio.
ART GLASS: A mouth blown open vase standing 6” high and 6 1/2” across widest. The vase has feathered lines in a reasonably uniform manner with oblong shaped-like reptilian scales or shapes. A blue ground is accentuated by a purple iridescence and fine black feather lines. Light ameba like shapes splattered around the vase. The top rim and inside is a shiny see through blue glass. Signature + date is on the side. Dated but I can not be sure. No chips or cracks.
From the artist’s site:

About Tom Philabaum
Tom Philabaum studied glassblowing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under Harvey Littleton, who is considered the father of the American Studio Glass Art Movement. After graduating with a Masters in Glassblowing, Philabaum built his first glassblowing studio in 1975 in downtown Tucson, Arizona, and opened a gallery in 1982. The following year, 1983, the Glass Arts Society (G.A.S.) conference took place in Tucson, with Tom as the liason for the local glass community. In 1997, the G.A.S. conference returned to Tucson with Tom as Co-Chair, and Philabaum Glass Gallery & Studio again being a major venue for demos and exhibitions.
