Perfect for any bird lover or even anyone who had parakeets when young, these birds have hung in the living room and the bedroom. These are a pair of classically framed chromolithographs called Parakeets by Rutledge for John Cassell’s book circa 1880s from “Cassell’s Canaries, and Cage Birds”. These are also quality frames with light “gold” detail as pictured. One shows a set of parrots, the other a set of parakeets.
I purchased them from Clary & Co Antique’s on Bleecker St in the Village in New York. Author is John Cassel, Artist is Rutledge, who isn’t available as a selection on the artist dropdown menu here.
