This gorgeous royal blue bottle will make a stunning display in any bar, restaurant or home collection. Attributed to Mary Gregory, this rare & elegant dispenser was hand painted with enamel and is hand blown. The art on the front is a beautiful depiction of a boy playing outside. The original spout has a cork around it and the underside of the bottle shows the polished pontil mark. A pontil mark remains where the pontil was broken from a work of blown glass.
A distinguishing feature of Mary Gregory glasswares is the stylized white enamel painting on the surface of colored glass. Subjects typically refer to the late 19th Century interest in pastoral scenes and often feature young children in an outdoor setting. This type of glass decoration developed from painted cameo glass produced in Europe circa 1870.
Remove the stopper and this would be lovely as a bud vase.
The quantity of one includes the bottle and the corked spout.
Measuring approximately:
8.75" high
