My process-based abstract paintings and drawings combine traditional explorations of color, shape, surface, and scale with expressive line work. I employ an interior, personal process rooted in drawing, which involves layers of doing, undoing and re-doing and allowing the artwork evolve over time. My work draws upon the art of the color field and Postwar gestural painters upon which I introduce qualities such as curiosity, awkwardness, self-doubt and wonder into my practice. My artworks include large and small sale paintings on paper and canvas created in acrylic paint, acrylic ink, graphite, charcoal, oil pastels and wax crayons.

I've left this artwork full size after finishing it, so there are holes somewhat visible where it was attached to the backing board for stretching and painting. This leaves more room for your framing preference: you can either float this artwork in a frame, leaving the mounting holes visible, or mount it under a mat to cover up the holes.

Artwork is initialed on front, signed and dated on verso. This artwork is not framed. It will ship in a sturdy tube. less
