Like nerve endings the eyes can visibly see that the hand is above the surface. Which the sense of touch would also know be feeling the air as apposed to the feel of water. That’s one explanation of the obvious. From there the painting to the viewer into the adventure plating out and what other meanings to painting is telling up. The hand is decoupage, each eye carefully cut from magazine models and arranged to cove the had like skin. The rest of the painting is watercolour on canvas and framed in an expensive modern black and gold frame. Painting by Nova a local Los Angeles artist. See less
