Found in the South of France, this 20th Century Hotel Silver Silverplate Sauce Boat was manufactured by Christofle and produced for the Hotel Provencal. The piece is hallmarked on the side with an emblem that is most likely the hotel logo with Hotel Provencal. The base is hallmarked Christofle, 17. The piece features a beautiful decorative embossed shell motif single handle. Highly collectable, hotel silver is a very heavy silver plate, usually triple plated over another type of metal to make it durable for hotel and commercial use. This saucier has been used and loved through the years and the imperfections add to the patina
