An imposing French Provincial walnut armoire or wardrobe with rich caramel hues, fine wood graining, wonderful patina and elaborate brass hardware. The armoire is capped with a deeply-carved, stepped-out cornice and a pair of full-length paneled doors shaped to follow the cornice’s graceful upward sweep. The doors are outfitted with a highly refined chicken wire reveal, door-length brass hinges, an original key with oversized keyhole escutcheons and adjustable full-length shelves. The cabinet sits on a charmingly carved serpentine apron that melds seamlessly into the cabinet’s short curved legs and balances the high cornice perfectly.
This is a large, imposing armoire that can be partially disassembled for ease of transport.
