It has a Few Surface - Kiln Glaze Imperfections ( Handle Areas ) But these are Typical - Normal with These Types of American Stoneware and Would Have Occurred in the Making - Firing Process. It Also has 2 Large Glaze Drips and a Small Surface Chip - These Can Best Be Seen in The Last - 12 Photograph in my Chairish Listing. Stoneware Piece Such as These were Fired in Very Large Kilns with Multiple Pieces at the Same Time and an Assortment of Surface Imperfections are Quite Common. less

This is a Great Looking Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Jug. Circa Late 19th Century. It has a Beautiful Blue Hand Decorated Stylized Floral Sprig Design on the front. It is Embossed with a Number 3 - Denoting its 3 Gallon Liquid Storage Capacity. It is Embossed With the Makers Name - DEAN FOSTER & CO. 14 BLACKSTONE St. BOSTON. These types of Jugs were typically used to Store and Preserve Liquids such as Water - Cider - Hard Ciders - Spirits - Liquors Etc. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition - Displays Beautifully. No Cracks - No Repairs. Imperfections Noted a Couple Very Small Chips at Spout Area.
