A wonderful French 1930 art deco table lamp made by the Paris based company of Léon Hugue, A nickel plated solid brass or bronze base holds a signed dome shaped shade by Degué. Done in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass.
Léon Hugue was a producer of art deco lighting in Paris during the interbellum (at 10 rue Pierre-Levée). He often used Degue made shades for his fixtures. The lamp has a height of 37,7 cm (14,84") and the shade has a diameter of 17,3 cm (6,81"). The lamp is in very good condition. The base has its original nickel plating. Of course it shows it is almost 100 years old but for its age it is in remarkable condition. The lamp is newly wired with nice cloth covered twisted cord and an American candelabra base socket. A Leviton socket build inside the old outer shell of the original French bayonet socket. And it comes with a US 2-prong plug.
