Smaller Approx. 1 Gallon … more This really is a Great Looking Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Late 19th Century. Smaller Approx. 1 Gallon Size. The Surface is done in a Fine - Satiny Salt Glaze and it is Nicely Uniform in a Color. The Front has a Beautiful Navy Blue Hand Decorated Design that is Sometimes Referred to as a "Stinger" on the Front. It is Signed - Embossed with the Makers Name N. A. WHITE & SON, UTICA N.Y.. These type of Jugs were Commonly Used to Store a Variety of Liquids - Spirits - Liquor - Ciders - Vinegar - Spring Water Etc. It is in Very Good Overall Original Condition with No Cracks - No Repairs - Displays Very Nicely. It does have a Very Small Chip in the Spout Area, A Chip at the Base Perimeter and a Surface Chip Near the Makers Name but but these are a Normal Occurrences with these types of Jugs as They Were Made for Utilitarian Purposes - Please See All 12 Photographs.
