Vintage Mixed Metal Coffee or Tea Set in Secessionist Style

A handsome three-piece tea or coffee service of copper with brass accents consisting of a tea or coffee pot with … more A handsome three-piece tea or coffee service of copper with brass accents consisting of a tea or coffee pot with a hinged lid, a pitcher for milk or cream, and a sugar bowl with a removable lid, dating circa 1920s-1930s. Apparently unmarked but similar in style and material to coffee and tea services offered by a number of early 20th century European art metal manufacturers, including WMF of Germany. This set was acquired in Sweden. Each piece of the set rests on a square base and the bodies taper upward. The outer surfaces are decorated on all sides with a simple Secessionist motif consisting of six ribbed vertical lines on either side of a central four-pointed X. Very good condition with minor spots of wear, a few scuffs, and some oxidation: the brass finial on the lid of the sugar bowl is slightly crooked. The coffee pot measures 8 inches height (to top of finial) x 8 inches width (from handle to spout). less
