It is made of stoneware - much heavier than ceramic. The glaze - classic Celadon green, is one of the two colors made in Thailand (the other being English Jade green). The glaze appears to be more of a wash of color with the classic crackle finish with a more concentrated Jade color in the relief of the design. This soft Jade color goes with just about anything!
