This is an over-the-top set of 4 carved wood Palm Frond Chairs in the style of Frances Elkins. These have a tremendous amount of carving and upholstered seats. Several of the leaves are smooth and then there is a dotted carving possibly to resemble branches. The carving repeats on the apron and legs as well. I notice when these are painted the carving becomes more subtle. Perfect for Regency or Grandmillineal decor. I would paint these white.
Condition. Solid. There are some natural occurring marks to the natural wood. These have not been painted. Two chairs have brackets underneath. They are rock solid and the brackets were not put there for any reason we can see. Cushions need to be redone as they have some spots on them.
