This Andy Warhol rare vintage 1986 limited edition large fine art lithograph print " Lynn Wyatt " 1980, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art lithograph print is published by The Carnegie Museum of Art ( CMOA ) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the city of Warhol's birthplace. Printed in a series of limited edition color lithograph prints by the museum in 1986. The print is signed in the plate, hand numbered 610/2400 from the edition of 2400, CMOA stamp on the reverse back side. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1980 titled " Lynn Wyatt ".
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
Warhol's portrait of Lynn Wyatt the international socialite, is one of the artist's iconic portrait art works. The steadfast inner circle friend posed for Warhol in 1980. The artwork is an enigmatic identity of its subject and the bold directness of its allure as a mirror of its time.
Lynn Wyatt ( B. 1935 ) The philanthropist and third generation Texan is the grand daughter of a prominent Houston Jewish family and founders of The Sakowitz Luxury Department Stores. Beginning in the 1960's when it came to representing Texas on the international level it was Lynn Wyatt. With her striking blonde hair, porcelain complexion, and small frame that was only eclipsed by her intoxicating personality.
During the height of the oil boom in the 1970's and 1980's, the family Wyatt mansion was known as a home-away-from-home for her jet set friends including Princess Margaret, Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco, Joan Collins, Mick Jagger, Elton John, Roger Moore, and Liza Minelli among many others.
Lynn was a friend and patron of couturiers Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld, Emanuel Ungaro, Bill Blass and Jean Paul Gaultier. She has been inducted into The International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. She epitomized the celebrity that infatuated Warhol, her beauty, and their friendship, made Lynn a perfect subject for the artist.
The rare out of print large lithograph print measures 23 5/8" W X 23 5/8" H. It is printed on high quality heavyweight premium paper stock with vibrant colors in a matte finish.
