Brown Furniture at it's best!
Quirky mix of styles here - American Depression era-made or just prior to, this generously sized arm chair also draws influence from ye olde French and English styles in it's high-backed throne-like seating and flared arms that outstretch to welcome the sitter. All original early 20th century manufacture except that I did have it reglued - joints were loose at the H-stretcher below. Tiger oak is rich in patina and I didn't want to change the distressed leather seat that shows horsehair padding inside because the matching leather inset at the back-splat is perfectly intact. This is best for the buyer to decide if the whole chair should be restyled thru new upholstery or just restore the drop-in seat to match or contrast with the leather at backsplat. As always - you are welcome to request a quote for in-house custom restoration/reupholstery which would include new webbing with original horsehair recarded and handsewn back in place (no petrol-foam product to be used), then fitted with a muslin cover then final upholstery - or take to your own local upholsterer to do this work. less
