A vintage 2x3 Persian Gabbeh rug, from a grand entry to Rug & Kilim’s curation of rare tribal pieces. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This mid-century piece features colorful animal pictorials in red, blue and brown atop creamy beige with gray accents. The patterns bear a strong resemblance to minimalist goat depictions, used beautifully on the negative space in tasteful fashion. Connoisseurs will admire this extremely collectible piece of folk art, connoting the most primitive shabby-chic style.
