This is a handmade figurine created by local artisans in the southern part of Peru, as a reminder of the history and power of the horse to the Inca Culture. When the Incas were conquered by the Spaniards, different animals were introduced to Peru, among them the bull, the horse and the chicken. The Incas admired the horses for their strength. This particular piece comes from the estate of a couple who collected objects from all over the world, with an emphasis on quality mid century pieces. Heavy weight with no known blemishes. less
