This piece features beautifully turned … more A gorgeous oxblood red upholstered saddle stool with purple fabric for the attached seat cushion. This piece features beautifully turned legs and stretchers and is a solid piece. The fabric is free or rips, or tears but does appear to have some possible sun fade. On the underside of the saddle stool is piece of paper stapled to the frame. The paper indicates the stool or at least the material used in the design of the stool was made especially for the new Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York, NY. There is no manufacture label or mark on the stool and we cannot provide any provenance to support the paper label. We do know the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center opened in 1966. The stool is in very good vintage condition with some minor scuffs and possible sun fade to the fabric. Please see photographs for an overall representation of condition. less
