Stunning large scale Chinese blue and white porcelain lidded ginger jar/canister/urn/vase.
Featuring a shapely, bulbous spherical body, hand-painted with intricate and beautifully detailed floral leaf/vine patterns covering the entire jar, simple geometric key decorative borders, with it's original slightly domed fitted lid with a decorated pointed knob finial.
Because many of these canisters were used to store tea and spices many have not survived without wear, tear, and/or damage because of the very fragile aged porcelain. It's even more difficult that you will find one with it's original matching lid intact. I'm so happy to be able to have this gorgeous treasures in-tact and available to you.
This is timelessly stylish piece is a fantastic way to add a touch of Chinoiserie Chic/Asian flare to any space. An interior decorators dream! It can be used with the lid as a vessel to store anything, or remove the lid and display bamboo or a fresh floral arrangement. It makes a prominent eye-catching display and would look stunning on a mantle, entry or console table or as a centerpiece to create an elegant tablescape. This would be an incredible addition to any blue and white porcelain collection.

Very good vintage condition- wear consistent with age and history.
No chips or cracks on the body or the lid. Expected, but minimal crazing and a few pinpoints. Glaze pop and some minor imperfections here and there that naturally occurs in the glazing and firing process. No other visible damage or repairs. Please zoom for close-up details.
The bottom is marked and reads "MADE IN CHINA"
This is believed to be from the1960's-1970's but not certain.
