- WOW this is such an amazingly rare find ! This is an old tile drinking fountain with a beautiful Yosemite … more WOW this is such an amazingly rare find ! This is an old tile drinking fountain with a beautiful Yosemite scene. It is very rare for any of the old tile to surface nowadays due to updates in style and design let alone a fountain of this caliber. This is the first time we have ever seen this particular scene surface. We believe it to be that of the half dome in Yosemite. It is absolutely amazing the way that they have designed this fountain. We believe this to of been a public drinking fountain with a top spout to allow one to fill a larger container of water along with a smaller drinking spout in the basin. Such a classic design to have the waterfall located directly behind the top spout so when the spout is turned on it will look as though the water is falling down the waterfall. This fountain would be perfect for any garden setting . The fountain was removed in one solid piece as to not jeopardize any of the tiles that had been set. It was originally set into a wall. The exterior is in a RAW form with bare concrete and wood. It can be reinstalled into a wall or even the exterior to be finished and become a free standing water fountain. This fountain was originally installed in an old hotel in Ohio 1920/30s interior but could be used both interior or exterior. With over 30 years experience salvaging and featuring tiles we know the decorative field tiles bordering the mural part are from mosaic tile company and the Yosemite part is also Mosaic company or possibly SEG Saturday evening girls but not 100% sure either way it’s amazing . This particular tile scene was not mass produced and we have not seen any others even similar to it out there. less
