Maurice Vagh-Weinmann was born on August 20, 1899 and died in 1986, was a French painter of Hungarian origin. This piece is stunning in rich layers of oil depicting a moody evening on the river in center Paris. Truly one of my most favor acquisitions. It is adorned by a collectible hand carved wooden frame signifying it’s importance.
More about the artist: Maurice Vagh-Weinmann’s works are also in association with his brothers notable artists as well, Nándor and Elemer. We know that they painted certain works together. The subjects are the same (tormented landscapes or lively but faithful portraits), as is the impetuous paste technique.
Died in 1986, his studio was partially dispersed in 1992 by the masters Ribeyre and Baron, in Paris. His work is in many important museums in France today. less
