This Vintage, 1969, Original Mid-Century Oil Painting was painted by Lester Myers, an engineer by trade and self-taught amatuer painter, as well as a dabbler of music and poetry.
Created in 1969, this painting with warm hues represents how artist imagined twilight of the New York City skyline in the 1920s. His original poem that was inspired by the painting's imagery or that inspired him to paint this view is affixed to the painting's board backing.
This is a Framed Original Oil Painting on Board, (all original to artist). This piece came out of an estate sale and bio info on Lester was gracious offered to us by his great neice.

ARTIST BIO, (written by his great neice):
LESTER ALMON MYERS, (1906 – 1991)
Born in New York State and died in York, South Carolina. Married to Lucy Mundy Myers.
He was employed for many years by Sears, Roebuck & Co. in New York City and then joined Weston Electric Company in Union, N.J. where he worked as an engineer developing parts for automobiles and airplanes.
One of his great accomplishments was building a powerful telescope and camera that could take photographs of the sun and moon. He lectured in college classrooms regarding his experiments and sharing his pictures.
Myers was also a concert guitarist and wrote many compositions for guitar as well as provided guitar lessons. The guitar compositions were left to the Classic Guitar Company in New York City. He was also a woodworker and painter. Many of his paintings were left to the New York Library.
