Take a look at this sublime Albini-inspired late mid-century beauty! Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail went into its making. Bent bamboo poles were used to fashion the frame, which extends upward to form the triple wrapped handle. Double bamboo rods were used on the base to add a boost of height and structural integrity. The splines are split bamboo weavers nailed to bamboo rods and cross-wrapped with rattan bindings to the frame’s sides, two bamboo rods per side. Handcrafted from tortoise shell bamboo and rattan bindings, unknown maker. It hails from the late mid-century, 1970s. It measures 16” x 16¼” x 13¾” H/W/D; interior 14” x 13” x 13¾” H/W/D; weight 1 lb. 8 oz. In excellent condition with minimal use wear. I’ve used it as a media holder but I believe it could just as stylish as a wine bottle holder on a countertop or atop a drinks cabinet. From a style perspective there’s an “oomph factor” that will play well with just about any style you may have in your home. It’s been with me for a long time and is now looking for a new home, yours perhaps?
