This is a vintage 1940s Purinton apple motif chop platter.
Purinton Ware dates back to the late 1800s but was mainly popular during the 1940s and 1950s when the plant moved to Pennsylvania.
Purinton Ware is lovely example of American Pottery and the open apple pattern from Purinton has become highly collectible.
The platter measures 12 inches in diameter and has the three dot pattern along the edge.
The back is stamped or incised with Purinton slip ware logo.
One of the red dots along the edge has a fade or a miss of the glaze and I've shown a close up in the photos.
The coloring is bright and vivid on this piece and this would make a great teacher gift!
