Smith of Ringoes, NJ is acknowledged by family lore to have painted these seascapes circa 1914. Little of her background has been found, however her talent and sense of both mood and subject are evident. Her paintings show evidence of being influenced by the Hudson River School movement of the 19th century. They are truly well executed paintings completed in oil on board. less
