Description: A large chinoiserie famille rose ceramic vase with a lovely floral, figural, and bird motif. This polychrome vessel is wide … more A large chinoiserie famille rose ceramic vase with a lovely floral, figural, and bird motif. This polychrome vessel is wide at the body, and narrow at the neck and base. It has a bright pink background and is decorated with multiple white flying cranes. The neck of the vase has two handles which are decorated with lotus blooms or fig blooms in pink, with green leaves. Each side of the vase is hand-painted with a Chinese mountain scene of warriors. Tall mountains are painted in the background in a pale blue/green. Warriors are on horseback with swords overhead during battle. Each scene is on both the front and back and framed with a painted blue and red border. The bottom of the piece is banded with red, blue, and yellow stylized designs. Inside the vase, just over the lip, are pink lotus blossoms attached to one another via green leaves and vines. This vessel would be fabulous alone on a dining table, a foyer table, or a side table. It would also be wonderful if paired with other famille rose pieces in a group.
