This clock comes from Brünn, Austria and dates to the late 19th century.
Given its immense size and ornate detailing, this clock was most likely meant for use in an office, lobby, or jeweler's shop. This is a very high quality piece.
The case is quite unusual as it has shelves built onto the sides.
The case is fitted with Art Nouveau/Vienna Secessionist detailing throughout.
Each corner of the case is fitted with hand carved spires and a lovely 3- piece upper crest.
The time only movement has a silvered dial (with second hand), and matching weight and pendulum. All are etched with gorgeous designs.
The back of the case retains the original maker's mark of the case. The case was made by "Möbelfabrik Sigm Deutsch & Co Brünn." In other words, this was made by furniture company "Sigm Deutsch & Co" of Brünn, Austria.
