His works were notably published by the largest foundries of the time, like that of the Thiébaut Frères, whose cachet adorns the left side. Here he represents an allegorical figure of thought, in the guise of a young woman wearing an elegant drape in the ancient, and holding a parchment in hand. At his feet, there are books and a pen, attributes related to reading and writing. We guess behind her a bust of Minerva, a Roman deity of wisdom and intelligence. This bronze is mounted on a red marble base veined with white.
This delicate work will enchant you by the finesse of its details and by the quality of its realization.
