It is square and with a closed front, the expansive, squat body almost floats, the square steel base appears so thin and minimalist. The handle strip of the folding doors sits on the top edge of the doors and thus forms an attractive shadow gap, as it is continuous with the panel surface. The maple of the interior shines surprisingly fresh and bright, attractively contrasting with the light blue formica base of the drawers and the drinks holder. The slide-in strips (shelf supports) at different heights have been designed in an attractive and decorative way. All in all, the b 40 by waeckerlin, design 1957, is innovative and quite unique in its design solutions and is therefore still perceived as modern and of high quality today.
