Capturing movement in acrylic and spray paint, Armen Ges experiments with optical illusions and perspective in his original abstract artworks. To create these intriguing visuals, Ges employs traditional gestural techniques in combination with graffiti. Through this process, his artworks gain an elevated degree of complexity. Each artwork embodies a dream-like state, one without a rigid structure and as a result expresses a sense of joy, movement, and happiness.
This vibrant abstract mixed media painting is 36 inches square. The first layer of color is created with spray paint. Acrylic paint with flowing texture is added on top in a controlled motion with a chance of spontaneity, giving this original artwork a three-dimensional feeling of implied movement. Parts of the acrylic paint areas are seemingly disconnected, expressing the passing fragility of nature. The sides are painted and it does not require framing. It is wired and ready to hang. This painting is signed on the back. Convenient local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and global shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Ges received a degree in Psychology as well as Visual Public art from California State University, Monterey Bay. As his style evolved, he began to implement his background in psychology into his work to push the boundaries of his abstraction.
“My art revolves around the intersection of the human psyche. Creativity keeps me going, with each piece coming out different from the next. My approach is all about process and immersing myself in my work. Color for me is a fundamental yet imperative tool. I strive to create an inclusive atmosphere with the acceptance of multiple perspectives and various influences.”
Ges' works have been exhibited throughout Southern California since 2018 and at Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles since 2021.
