Subject in bronze with patina medal signed Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906), French sculptor member of the Society of Artists, whose works were exhibited at the Salon from 1875 to 1903.
Crushed with meticulousness, this work represents a young woman lived with a draped and vaporous dress retained by her left hand. Her wavy hair is retained by a long scarf, framing her beautiful serene face.
She rests her right hand on a book supported by a column.
Signed on the terrace and the bottom of the column, this bronze inspired by mythology is a praise for femininity.
