Description: Listing is for an antique print of a mid 19th century German painting of a group of farm animals feeding … more Listing is for an antique print of a mid 19th century German painting of a group of farm animals feeding in a barn. I’m having trouble identifying the artist, but I recall it’s German and the process of printing dates to the 1920s. The print is affixed to a board, but the sheen is evocative of an oil painting. The frame is mid 19th century English. I don’t think the print is original to the frame, but wonderfully suits it.

Frame is 14.5” x 16.5” and opening is 10.75” x 12 7/8”

On the pine panel, there is a note etched in pencil that refers to 1858 and Peterhouse College in Cambridge, but I believe that references the art that was in the frame prior to this print. They claim the wood is sycamore, but I’m not sure that is correct. less
