Magnificent cobalt on porcelain amphora lamp from the famous German manufacturer Lindner Bavaria. This elegant piece of Bavarian porcelain is covered in an overall intense, glossy cobalt blue glaze with a pink floral design on white ground in the center. Front and back are the same. The handles and trim are gilded.
I have not been able to find any history of this company making lamps, so believe this was a jar or vase that was converted to a lamp. Marked on the bottom by Lindner Kueps Bavaria Echt Cobalt.
There is a red satin uno shade that came with the lamp. This shade is covered on the top with red satin and a plastic cover over that in order to reduce the levels of light given off. It would be a good choice as a boudoir lamp. Clearly created for connoisseurs of high quality and style.
The white power cord is about five feet long with an inline switch and a type C Europlug on the end. A type A adaptor for use in American outlets is included.
With the shade on, the lamp is about 22 inches tall and 12 1/2 inches wide. The lamp base is about 6 inches wide at the gold handles and 15 inches tall to the top of the bulb socket.
The lightbulb is not included. less
