This is a pair of 1972 vintage Mid-Century fashion prints by the iconic Antonio Lopez! Known as “Antonio” in the fashion world, Antonio Lopez electrified the fashion art scene in the 60s, 70s and 80s. His vibrant illustrations ushered in a new youth culture in fashion magazines. He was a “force majeur”, mixing the worlds of designer clothing with art, kitsch, break dancing and street culture. He liberated fashion imagery with free flowing, sexually charged drawings. His work appeared in the New York Times, Vogue and Elle magazines and he illustrated for Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, Norma Kamali, Missoni, and Anna Sui. His work is richly detailed, expressively vivid and of heroic proportions and poses. Unfortunately, his life was cut short by the ‘80s AIDS epidemic; he died at the young age of 44. A book, Antonio Lopez: Fashion, Art, Sex, Disco chronicles his life's work which is now highly recognizable and collectible. This 1972 pair of fashion designs originally came from a French magazine. They capture the essence of Antonio. They are explosive in red color with gray and white graphic patterning. They are electrifying with movement and will bring “life” into any décor.
