This is a pair of ebullient late Memphis Era Martini Glasses, handblown by Michael Jaross, The American Glass Master. They are signed and dated "Michael Jaross '95". They are a stunning study in color and whimsy. The signed foot is solid black glass. The foot is topped with a blue and grey thick columnar stem, decorated with a creamy white ribbon, giving the stem a resemblance to a candy cane. The top of the stem holds a undulating petal black base for the clear body of the martini glass. The rim of the Martini Glass is the creamy white ribbon again.
The result is Martini Glasses with all the whimsy of the Italian Memphis Era and all the functional utility of the American spirit.
The glasses are a perfect contoured 6.5" tall with a mouth opening of 4.5".
There is a Youtube Video of Michael handblowing this glass. To see it go there and search "The Perfect Martini Glass". It is a delight to see.
Cheers,
